Fiskars PowerGear Loppers | Garden Tool Review

The third tool in the Fiskars PowerGear™ range that I was fortunate enough to trial was the Loppers. Having already been suitably impressed with Fiskars PowerGear™ Pruners and the Fiskars PowerGear™ Hedge Shears it was quite appropriate that I expected big things. Fortunately, I wasn’t let down.
Our Public Holiday Monday was spent chewing through some seriously overgrown garden – neglect the bandit. Trees, shrubs, rose bushes, climbers and revelling ground covers had all enjoyed the lack of parental supervision and competed with each other for available sunlight. Needless to say the loppers were in high demand as we brought the garden back into some semblance of order.

Like the pruners and hedge shears trialled before it, the loppers worked amazingly easy. Their PowerGear™ ingenuity made effortless work cutting through branches the size of my thumb, and bigger. Applying pressure to a branch with this tool is almost like forcing a hot knife through butter.

With most loppers, all the strength and power comes from your biceps – unless you have long-handled loppers which can add extra weight to the tool. With the Fiskars Loppers, all the effort is provided via the gearing forcing the tool to do all the hard work. At the end of a day using these your arms won’t feel like they’re going to drop off.

Again, for those who are aged or suffering from arthritis, the dexterity of these loppers will allow you to accomplish pruning tasks that you may have never thought you could achieve again.

After trialling all three products I can only reiterate that these are fantastic value for money, incredibly easy to use and should last for years to come.
